I hear what you all are saying and for the most part agree. I'd rather give those 3rd line minutes to McCarron or even Danault and get more experience at the NHL level. Desharnais has trouble with coverage in his own end and I'd rather a young guy making those mistakes... Realistically though, Desharnais is here to stay for this upcoming season unless another team really needs depth and the Habs eat some salary... Remember, he made Weise and Fleischmann look brilliant to start the season and 17 pts in 22 games is really quite decent. I think he has another season of 35-40 points in him IF he is utilized properly but I don't have confidence that will happen under Therrien...
Friendly reminder to please reply back or PM your stories of how you came to love hockey and/or your favorite team for an upcoming blog!
Cheers & have a great long weekend! |

DD needs to be traded or bought out.
He's not what the Habs need. |

"Perhaps a move to the wing will eventually be in Desharnais and the team’s best interest moving forward."
I think a move right off of the team and away from this blind coaching staff is best for everyone involved. DD just isn't an NHL'er. Unless the NHL turns into a no shoot and play from your knees league....then he'd be perfect!
Coles Notes version = DD SUCKS!! |

Hard to qualify a past 60 point producer (granted it was only once) "not an NHLER"
Dont get me wrong, I wish him out as mush has you do...but I believe he could still play in the NHL and bring 40 points on a 3rd line... just out of here please
and oh, his salary more around 2 than 3.5 as well.. |

Danny Heatley had 2 50g seasons, 2 100point seasons...
He's no longer an NHL player..

I'm sorry Jen, love your blogs but can't agree that he deserves a B+ as a 3rd line centre. He's bad at everything, his D zone coverage is usually awful and he's too small to forecheck effectively |

He is what he is. He's made the most of his ability and that's very admirable. But he's an utterly ineffective hockey player at this level. But Michel Therrien thinks he's a premiere player in this league and that's all that matters. |

Unfortunately the NHL is a "What have you done for me lately" league.......and what has DD done for us lately? He's the only one who has benefitted from all of his unwarranted ice time. We all know the story of DD......him and his salary should be the first thing to go this summer. But unfortunately he'll most likely finish out next season with us......
He may have been an NHL'er for 2 seasons.....but he is no longer and it's getting pretty obvious. But in the end we are both saying the same thing. |
